ALOT brand identity and website

This specialized archive collects and makes available the oral histories that document the lesbian experience in the twentieth century.

They needed a a more professional and coherent design for their website, and by extension would benefit from a new logo.

The Drupal based website provides access to a trove of audio and video interviews, initially conducted by Project Director, Elise Chenier and further supplemented by donations from individuals and organizations.

The archives can be browsed by collection or by list, and every item is described in a detail which enhances search.


The formulation of the symbol came to me quite suddenly and clearly as the diagram describes:


I explored different treatments of the symbol and how they might be used on the website.
